Eine der vielen Stärken von Microsoft ist die eingängige Namensgebung für seine Produktpalette. Nach dem Geniestreich Windows App (ursprünglich: Microsoft Remote Desktop) wird nun Microsoft Office 365 in Microsoft 365 Copilot umbenannt:

Shortly after the New Year, someone in Redmond pushed a button that raised the price of its popular (84 million paid subscribers worldwide!) Microsoft 365 product. You know, the one that used to be called Microsoft Office? Yeah, well, now the app is called Microsoft 365 Copilot, and you're going to be paying at least 30% more for that subscription starting with your next bill.

Microsoft 365 Copilot ist aber künftig nicht nur der Name der App für Privatkundinnen, sondern bezeichnet auch eine Produktkomponente von Microsoft 365 für Unternehmen, die zusätzlich lizenziert werden muss. Im Gegensatz zu Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat (a.k.a. Bing BizChat, Bing Chat Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot for Entra account users), der bereits in den üblichen M365-Lizenzen enthalten ist.

Wer eine M365-Allergie hat, kann alternativ Standard Copilot, Copilot Pro oder Copilot Studio nutzen.
